Scientific purpose and scope: This will be a repository of data files from Atomic Force Microscopy measurements of physical and biological materials. This will contain raw datafiles of all types (.spm, .jpk, .asd, .ibw etc.), alongside a processed image (.png, .jpg, .tiff etc.).
Relevance to the wider community: This database will encourage good data sharing/open data practices. It will also aid in the development of deep learning tools for enhanced analysis by providing high-quality data to train on.
Infrastructure and tooling: Our analysis tool TopoStats is being actively maintained and can be used to process the data prior to upload.
Encouragement to engage: We encourage researchers to share AFM data from their published work, and test and provide feedback on TopoStats, to benefit the wider community by sharing open data and analysis tools.
